Omolara Uwemedimo MD, MPH, is the director of the global health training program at Cohen Children’s Medical Center. She is also an attending at the children's hospital.
She holds several administrative leadership positions including serving as co-director of the Resident Scholarly Oversight Committee at Cohen Children’s Medical Center and a member of the Global Health Pediatric Education Group Steering Committee for the Association of Pediatric Program Directors. She is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Academic Pediatric Association and the Association of Pediatric Program Directors.
She has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the Leonard and Sophie Davis Award for medical students encompassing qualities of compassion, empathy and professionalism from the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education and the PRIDE from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute Training Award.
She holds a BS in biomedical sciences from the City University-NY, a MD from New York University School of Medicine and completed her residency training in pediatrics at the Boston Medical Center/Children’s Hospital Boston. She completed a MPH at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.
