Biography

Justine Woolner-Wise received her Master’s degree in social work from Syracuse University and has been a clinical social worker in the Oneonta community since 1990. She is experienced in gender and sexuality issues, working with individuals, couples and families. Working in collaboration with Dr. Carolyn Wolf-Gould at The Gender Wellness Center, Bassett Healthcare Network, AO Fox Hospital since 2013, she provides psychosocial and gender assessments and psychotherapy to transgender clients, their partners and families.

In addition to teaching social work, counseling and LGBTQ issues at Hartwick College, she has presented at the Gender Conference East in 2015 and 2017, WPATH Amsterdam 2015, and USPATH Los Angeles 2017 and at local area schools, businesses, and organizations. She is a member of WPATH - the World Professional Association for Transgender Health and NASW, National Association of Social Workers. With an undergraduate degree in photography and design, (BFA MICA 1977) she has had a “first” career as an artist, sees the world with a designer’s eye, and is interested in the power of art for effecting social change. She’s a foodie and often joyfully gives into her itch for travel.
