Biography

Flor has a Master in Social Work that she earned at (UMAB) University of Maryland at Baltimore. She also completed Clinical Psychology at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, her country of origin. She has worked in clinical mental health settings including work with dually diagnosed patients (mental health and substance abuse), counseling to Latina women affected by Intimate Partner Violence, providing support to at-risk young mothers, and support to women and their families.

She has worked for over 20 years with members of the Latino community in Baltimore. The main focus of her job is to help women and their families attain their potential, and achieve their goals in a safe environment, which includes access to health and education. Flor has been offering educational workshops on domestic violence as well as diversity training on Latino immigrant issues at a local and national level.
