Biography

Sanghamitra “Mitra” Misra is an integrative pediatrician with a passion for serving vulnerable populations. She is the medical director of the Texas Children’s Mobile Clinic Program which brings comprehensive medical and behavioral healthcare to underserved children in the Houston area. She is the director of the Texas Children’s Hospital Integrative Medicine Program which offers nonpharmacological therapies like acupuncture and clinical hypnosis to children in the hospital setting. Dr. Misra is associate professor of pediatrics and pediatric clerkship director at Baylor College of Medicine and a published author of research articles, book chapters, and a book on topics including refugee health, mobile clinics, and integrative medicine. She is an elected member of the executive committee for the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Integrative Medicine and Co-chair of the Core Collaborative of the Council for Medical Student Education in Pediatrics (COMSEP). She is the immediate past-chair of the board of directors of the advocacy organization Doctors for Change and board member of the nonprofit Undies for Everyone.
