Biography

Pia is an Internist and fellowship-trained Geriatrician. For the majority of the past decade, Pia has served as a primary care geriatrician in 2 Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) in underserved Oʻahu, collectively serving Native Hawaiian, Asian, Samoan, and Micronesian populations.

She is on faculty at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa John A. Burns School of Medicine, Department of Geriatric Medicine as a clinician-educator. Pia serves as the medical director of 4 community nursing homes. She is well-versed in conducting quality improvement projects and creating integrative care plans for the frailest of the elderly. Pia’s interests include primary care geriatrics, healthy aging, and end-of-life issues.
