Biography

Nohemi Garcia is a bilingual therapist who specializes in working with traumatized and bereaved youth.  She has been a member of the Trauma and Grief Center for Youth since early 2018 and is also a member of the Mobile Clinic Program, providing care for children in underserved communities. Nohemi has specialized training and practice in multiple evidence-based treatment models including EMDR, TF-CBT, and RPT.

Nohemi is passionate about working with immigrant children having diverse backgrounds such as human trafficking, sexual abuse, and unaccompanied minors.  She believes in helping youth learn self-compassion as a stepping stone to building intrinsic empowerment, and is passionate about advocating through educating the community and professionals involved in shaping children’s mental health care services.
