I have a Bachelor Degree in Social Work from the University of Puerto Rico and a Master's Degree in Social Work with a concentration in Direct Service from the Interamerican University. Also I had a Post Graduate Certificate in Clinical Social Work from the last mentioned institution. At the present time, I’m doctoral student in Public Health with a specialization in Social Determinants at Public Heath School in the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus.
Among my professional experiences, I have been a social worker and director of the Social Work in public housing and in subsidized housing projects, social worker at Title V Programs of the Education Department and facilitator in the ""Brega Bien"" project, directed to work with young people to prevent risk behavior and educate about healthy sexuality issues.
Currently, I am a faculty member of the Department of Social Work and Master Program Coordinator at Universidad del Turabo. Since March 2016 I have been actively collaborating in the development of the community project Social Revolution. This project has the purpose to facilitate the community development and the insertion of the students in the learning and community sense of self process.
Apart to the professional work mentioned, I have been part of the board of directors of the Professional Association of Social Work of Puerto Rico since 2013 and currently I'm assuming the position of Vice President of the Board of Directors.
