Biography

Jennifer Richman, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester. She received her medical doctorate from the University of Rochester, and completed her clinical fellowship in Consultation Liaison Psychiatry at Georgetown University. She is board certified in both general and consultation-liaison psychiatry.

Dr. Richman is the Director of the Inpatient Psychiatric Consultation Liaison Service at the University of Rochester’ s 849 bed academic medical center. The Psychiatric Consultation Liaison Service provides evaluation and assistance with the management of psychiatric disorders occurring in medically ill or injured inpatients. Through this role, she was integral in the development of the Department of Psychiatry’s telehealth infrastructure to provide psychiatric consultation and care at a distance. She continues to serve as the Telepsychiatry Program Medical Director. Most recently, Dr. Richman has taken the lead on expanding the psychiatric consultation-liaison service to transform the behavioral health care of patients with cancer through the development of a new Psycho-Oncology Program.

Beyond her clinical and programmatic development expertise, Dr. Richman is invested in teaching learners at all levels and has won teaching awards for both medical student and resident education. She values her role as a Clinical Scholar and mentor and supervisor to new faculty, residents and medical students.
