Universidad del Turabo
Gurabo, Puerto Rico
I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. I lived for 10 years in NYC, where I worked at a counseling program for homeless youth and earned a master degree in social work, with a focus on community organization and planning. I returned to Puerto Rico to take care of my elderly father, and continued to work in social services managing a mobile needle exchange program in the central mountain towns.
In 2010, I left for Toronto to obtain a doctorate in naturopathic medicine. I returned home from Canada in 2015 with the degree, and my wife and now three-year old son, to make a difference in my country.
