Biography

Dr. Eric Weintraub, MD is an Associate Professor in Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, as well as the Head of the Division of Addiction Research and Treatment. He is board certified in General Psychiatry and has added qualifications in Addiction Psychiatry. In addition, he is the medical director of the University of Maryland's Medical Center's Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES).

He is an expert in the treatment of Opioid Use Disorder with Medication Based Treatments. He has developed innovative programs to expand access to evidence-based treatments to individuals with substance use disorders in underserved rural areas via tele-medicine platforms and engage individuals with Opioid Use Disorder in treatment in Emergency Department settings.
