Dr. Chris Wolf-Gould grew up in New Haven, Connecticut, and studied Political Science and Psychology at Oberlin College in Ohio. After working at a psychiatric hospital and on an Alaskan fish processing vessel, he attended Yale University Medical School. While at Yale, he spent a year training at Korle Bu Hospital in Accra, Ghana, through an American Medical Student Association international fellowship. He completed a residency in Family Medicine at the University of Rochester in upstate New York. He and his wife founded the Susquehanna Family Practice in Oneonta, New York in 1994 where they continue to see a broad range of patients in our practice. The practice is part of the Bassett Healthcare Network.
Over the past two decades, the medical practice has, at times, encompassed the delivery of babies, coverage of the newborn nursery, and supervision of the inpatient medical service in addition to the outpatient family medicine practice. Dr. Wolf-Gould joined the Gender Wellness Center at Susquehanna Family Practice in 2013, where he provides medical care to transgender and gender non-conforming youth and adults. Dr. Wolf-Gould is a member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health. He has been active in community organizations, including the NAACP and PFLAG. He has three children and live with his wife, Carolyn, in Oneonta. His hobbies include Zen Meditation and playing double bass in local bands.
