Biography

Annette Bell, MD is a Board-Certified family physician who earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia and completed her family medicine residency at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta. Dr. Bell currently practices as an emergency room physician in the Baptist Health System in Northeast Florida.

In addition to providing direct patient care in the ER, she has worked with organizations in her community to impact the lives of patients with mental health disorders by breaking down barriers to treatment. By establishing programs that utilize telepsychiatry and a multidisciplinary team-based approach to management, she has improved access, continuity and quality of mental health treatment for patients. Other initiatives have included Mental Health Centered Pain Management and a wellness program that embraces the American College of Sports Medicine’s Exercise is Medicine curriculum.

Dr. Bell is a Fellow with the American Academy of Family Physicians and certified with the College of Family Physicians of Canada. She holds joint diplomas of Licentiate of the National Board of Medical Examiners and the Medical College of Canada. Dr. Bell has held numerous medical leadership roles including membership on the Southeast Georgia Health System Advisory Board. She currently serves as chair of the McArthur Family YMCA Advisory Board and is a proud wife and mom of three wonderful children.
