Community Impact: Big Idea Talk

How do we start breaking silences around mental illness and suicide among Asian Americans?

Breaking Silences: Ride the WAVES, a talk by Jian (Lily) Chen.

Breaking silences means acting on the fact that Asian American college students are 40% more likely to have attempted suicide compared to White students. Nurse and community organizer Jian (Lily) Chen shares her story including her own daughter’s mental health crisis and recovery. Together, with United Chinese Americans (UCA) her team invites you to join them to ride the WAVES (Wellness, Advocacy, Voice, Education, and Support).

Join us in breaking silences to save young lives.
