By CS Fellow

Clinical Scholars Fellows Hope Bussenius and Dr. Charles Moore, along with others, have recently developed a smartphone app to help patients and healthcare providers to mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

[TechTank] allows patients to self-screen for COVID-19, and enables providers to view real-time positive screening counts by zip code.

TechTank Project COVID19

There are a number of ways in which this new app can be utilized:

  1. Facilities can use the real-time data to predict staff needs, operational acuity, workforce for pandemic pay plan, and containment and mitigation strategies, i.e. nursing homes
  2. Communities can use it for communication strategies to decrease the spread of the Coronavirus and promote social distancing, i.e. churches, funerals, etc.

For more details and to download the app, visit the TechTank website. You can also download the app in the Apple App store here.
