Advance Care Planning à La Mode

August 6, 2020

By CS Fellow

Justin Porter, Washington paramedic and registered nurse, urges us all to consider advance care planning in this lighthearted YouTube video.

He also provides in a Methow Valley News editorial an in-depth look at ensuring our loved ones are made aware of our wishes in the event we become ill, particularly during this time of COVID-19. He notes that “[b]eing clear with our wishes is what’s best for you, your family, and the healthcare system at large.”

Some of the questions Justin asks us to consider include:

  • What efforts should be made to keep you alive?
  • Is it important to you that every last intervention be attempted before allowing you to die?
  • If we die, who will take care of the kids?

Find out the answers to these questions by reading Justin’s full editorial here.
