By CS Fellow

During the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry 2020 Virtual Meeting, Juliana Chen, Justin Chen (Cohort 2020-2023) and others co-hosted a screening and panel discussion of the documentary film Maineland.

The film follows two Chinese teenagers who come from abroad to study at a rural boarding school in Maine and “sheds light on the psychosocial, cultural, and emotional stressors affecting young Asian international students traveling alone to the United States for their education: a phenomenon called “parachute kids.”
