It was the decade she spent in maternal and child health—working on a host of wicked public health issues including infant mortality, preconception health, undoing racism, health disparities, teen pregnancy, and more—that helped Katie realize her love for developing leaders who could take on the world’s greatest challenges. For the last 5 years, she has directed a year-long leadership training program (The Great Plains Leadership Institute) and served as Manager of Workforce Development and Leadership Programs in the College of Public Health, University of Nebraska Medical Center. Katie is certified in a number of personal assessments and instruments including 360 assessments and tools focused on personality, change, conflict, influence and more. Her favorite areas of focus include individual (self) awareness, leading through change, building teams, and public speaking training. Katie also regularly facilitates strategic planning processes and community meetings for organizations across Nebraska and the region. She is dedicated to helping people find and use their greatest talents and gifts.
